Nervous much?!!

That could have been the most nerve wracking thing I've done in my whole life: I just did a 2 hour radio show for the first time, WITHOUT ANYONE WATCHING ME!!

I was literally shaking in my seat!! This was way more nerve wracking than modelling at Love Vintage, and even more nerve wracking than
sing the National Anthem for my town solo. Ironic isn't it?
Anyways, I know have a 2 hour spot from 9-11 on Sundays, so if you'd like to check it out, the station I. D is: 104.1

You can also listen online at the CHYFM website!!
Thank guys!!

That Thigh Gap!

So I'm sure you've all seen those posts about 'the gap' pasted all over tumblr, Facebook and other social networking sites. What are your thoughts on this? Is this trend among teens doing more harm then good?
Here's the thing:
DON'T EVEN BOTHER FUSSING ABOUT THE GAP UNLESS YOU HAVE WIDE HIPS.

So what I'm really trying to say is this: fat around your thighs isn't what plays the biggest role in getting the gap. It depends on your bone structure. If you have a wider hip frame, it is possible, but don't fret!

If I told some this, what I am about to tell you, I'm sure it'd cause an annoying argument/conspiracy or a whole bunch of people telling me I'm perfect the way I am or what ever. I NEED THAT GAP IN A MONTH!
But it's ok right? I have wide hips...

Now, it sounds like I'm contradicting myself. I just told you not to fuss over your thighs and then I go and tell you how I am. It's my party in under a month though!!!

So, if you're like me and want to loose your thighs, this is a pretty good idea I think:

I don't think that's enough though, so I'm pairing it up with 40 minutes of cycling and 40 minutes of walking each day.
Also, healthy eating would be essential with this. Obviously, NO EATING DISORDERS OR SKIPPING BREAKFAST allowed!!

I'm happy to do this, and I don't think it's going too far either. It goes too far though when you develop eating complexes.

I'm over and out,
kiss, kiss, kiss
from this miss.

The Love Vintage Show: Brisbane

We had the greatest time at Brisbane’s Love Vintage fair on Friday, April 5! There was plenty to see and do; dolls had the opportunity to be styled vintage by the lovely ladies at the Lindy Charm School for Girls whilst the & guys could score a neat, new vintage do; Not to mention learn to dance the Charleston then have the chance to meet Les Gold from American Hit show Hardcore Pawn! He and his family appeared at the fair, with Les attending Brisbane and his children attending Sydney & Melbourne.

-All this under the one roof and for the first time ever at Brisbane’s LV, ‘Love Weddings’ was also exhibiting there.
At 7.00pm, registrations for Brisbane’s Best Dressed closed. Luckily, I got in on time and became contestant 35. If I recall correctly, there was 40 entrants and again, lucky for me, I scored a place! There was both men, woman and teens competing displaying 20s-80s vintage couture, reproductions, originals and even home-made pieces. Just lovely!
But the best part of all was sharing the love for vintage & vintage inspired fashion with other fellow retro-heads and taking home your new pieces bought at the show. I am absolutely fond of the new brooches I bought with a gift voucher I won at Kijaro Vintage & Stationery! One being a gorgeous gold bird –it looks like a Mockingjay, but if you can tell me what breed of bird it is it would be much appreciated- and one is a beautiful floral brooch of white porcelain.
Just quickly, I thought I’d share with you the Lindy Charm School for Girls oath: “I shalt always endeavor to wear red lipstick…”
Kisses,
Brittany

Mini Weekly Review: The Vintage Nest

The Vintage Nest is the most recent vintage clothing shop I've visited this year . Both the clothing and furniture store, PLUS  the cafe -with the same name- are included under the one roof; and the delightful but naughty treats are as scrumptious as they look (though I can almost guarantee you'll be contemplating going back for seconds!)
Dresses, skirts, tops and shoes are not the only pieces on the sale rack.. Antique or vintage items (even old bikes) and nic nacs are also available in store. You may even find the occasional fur if your lucky enough!

Though, even roses have their thorns. I  found the clothing was mainly focused on uncommon fabric types and I struggled to find  an average, cotton day dress.

Overall, I feel Bellingen's The Vintage Nest has a lovely, welcoming atmosphere. Whether you want to shop 'til you drop then kick back and relax over a coffee and cake, The Vintage Nest is the destination you've always been looking for..

My rating of The Vintage Nest:
★ ★

Hello There!

Good day to you!!! This page is dedicated to all the lovers of vintage and retro out there. I love keeping people up to date with the latest news on vintage festivals and fairs, stunning outfits and accessories & the best of the best stores to visit for the ultimate, classic experience. I myself, am a 1930s inspired Jazz musician & the junior ambassador of Wintersun: Australia's Biggest and Longest Running Retro Nostalgia Festival. I'm also a catwalk model of trends of the 1950s.

You won't find too much modern-vintage here, though. I can only settle when a piece is true, blue and classic. I mostly wear reproductions, as they are easier to come by, though I like to keep things as original as possible. I hope you enjoy my blog, along with the occasional tutorial.
